How can I report an abuse?

As a hosting provider, HIT.ng acts in full compliance with the law. This means that we are concerned that on our side there were no violations of the rules, law or personal property of anyone. There is a procedure for notifying us of parties who violate our Terms of Service. Each application is checked individually.

How do I report a site that violates the rules?

The best way to notify us of violations is to contact us using one of the methods described in this article. After receiving your message, depending on the situation, we can block the website and the hosting account (if we are sure that this website breaks the law). Before you send us a message, please try to contact the website's owner directly. If you do not know how to do it, we can forward your message to the owner and ask that person to respond to you.

Please, include such information in your message:

    • URL (eg. somepage.HIT.ng)
    • a broad description of the problem (in which way does this web page violate the rule)
    • direct link to the content that violates the rules (you can also add a screenshot)

Why do we refuse to block a website?

The website is blocked immediately when the violation is clear and obvious. But sometimes the cases are not clear, and we do not block the website. In such situations, we recommend that the victim reports the matter to the police. As a hosting provider, we have no right to decide what is a violation of the law and what is not. We cannot block a website unless we are absolutely sure that it should be blocked. If we receive a request from law enforcement agencies such as the police or the prosecutor's office to block the website, we do so immediately.

In some cases, we can unblock the website if the content that violated the rules has been removed by the owner.
